Here's a brand NEW cool kit from SU!  just in time for May.

We’re craving spring sun and flowers, so the new Bloomin’ Bouquet kit is arriving just in time! You can easily create a dozen beautiful flowers to give to someone special, including an extra one to give as a quick thank you to someone else. (Or keep for yourself—hey, your flowers, your rules!)

Just imagine presenting a beautiful, handmade bouquet, complete with your own touch, such as a vase, some tissue paper, or a bit of lovely ribbon or twine. It’s a gift that says you care—and will last longer than real flowers!

MDS MONDAY - NATIONAL ARBORETUM WITH LISA

My friend Lisa and I needed a nice relaxing day away from the cares of the world and we actually found it!  We visited the National Arboretum in Washington, DC. This has to be one of the best kept secrets in the midAtlantic.  What an awesome place.  We arrived just before noon and found ourselves lost in the beauty of nature until just before 4 pm.  We took a delightful and informative tram ride around the arboretum and then went on a little walk through the Bonsai gardens which were our favorites, and then the herb gardens, and then through the azalea path and the flowering hills and almost over to the original columns.  It was a magnificent day and we threw all of our cares away to just relax and enjoy nature.

Here's an MDS (My Digital Studio) page that I designed in honor of our trip.  The Bonsai tree we are in front of is about 250 years old.  Isn't that an amazing creation?

FEEL GOODS AND POP 'N CUTS CARD

This was one of the make 'n takes from the REMARKABLE HOT RETREAT I participated in up in Harrisburg, Pa a few weekends ago lead by my upline JANET WAKELAND.  She designed this card with the SU! BIG SHOT CARD BASE Pop 'n Cuts die and the DRESS FORM Pop 'n Cuts.  I thought this was a clever use of these dies and I really love the whole pop 'n cuts idea where you can make cards that open and pop up.  If used as is this would have been a dress form card. Janet changed it only slightly and made it a flower pot using the SECRET GARDEN stamp set and coordinating framelits.  Wow!  That's thinking outside the box!  Way to go Janet.
The stamp set on the outside is from the FEEL GOODS stamp set in the SU! OCCASIONS Catalog.  It's a really unique stamp set and one that all should have in their collection. We embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder and the new 2 setting heat tool by SU!  Do you like the paper doily embellishment?  I'm glad SU! has added these to their collection and so they are now in mine as well.
I love these flowers.  We stamped them first and then die cut them with our coordinating framelits.  The designer paper is from SALEABRATION.  I hope that SU! finds some extra packages of this dsp and offer them for sale on the clearance rack this summer.  This was certainly one of the nicest packs of dsp they've offered for FREE during a Saleabration.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY NIECE GEMMA

I went into my SU! storage drawer of stamps to use some stamps I haven't used in years.  It was really fun to pull them out and give them some life.  Today is my niece Gemma's Birthday and so these stamps I chose are perfect for her.
The background dsp is non SU! from a pack my sister in law and brother in law gifted me at Christmas.  It's a cool pack with textured bubbles and tie dye and really neat patterns.  The Happy Birthday stamped in Gemma's favorite color Gumball Green is from the SU! stamp set VIVID GREETINGS. The stars were stamped in Summer Starfruit  from the SU! set ALL ABOUT OCCASIONS.  And the cool balloons stamp is from one of my all time FAVORITE SU! stamp sets  NICE AND EASY NOTES, which is certainly a staple stamp set in a lot of long time demonstrator collections.  All of these stamps by SU! are retired and collector edition.  I was so happy to share them with my niece.  (note:  Sweet and Delicious Wishes stamp is non SU!)
Finally, I die cut GEMMA's name from SU! BIG SHOT die set TIMELESS TYPE and then added crystal effects and glitter.  Also, of note - the balloons were water-colored and then I added crystal effects and dazzling diamonds glitter.

Happy Birthday GEMMA!  Enjoy your day!

MDS MONDAY - CRUISIN IN THE BAHAMAS!

Today I want to share a few pages from the digital scrapbook I'm working on from my awesome cruise to the Bahamas with my sister Teresa!  We had a spectacular time.  The cruise was the best and a true trip of a lifetime.  We saw some great sunsets, shared great times, and really enjoyed the weather.  It was the perfect time to go!
This first page was from the formal night where we dined with the captain of the ship.  We were on our way to the Caribbean when this photo was taken.  Next is the same photo with a little bit of artistic framing added.  I was just having some creative fun!
These are some select photos from Paradise Island and the Great Stirrup Caye.  Oh the beauty of these islands is just incredible.  True Island Paradise.
This is one of the sunsets over the Caribbean.  Every evening just before dinner we were treated to this gorgeous scenery.  We'd either view the sunset on the promenade deck or we would view it from the restaurant.  Absolutely Amazing.  God's world is so beautiful!

All of the pages were created using My Digital Studio by SU!  I'll have more to share as I continue to work on this digital scrapbook. Thanks for letting me share a little bit of beauty with you.

CHEERFUL CARD BY LISA CHATTERJEE FOR BALTIMORE SU! REGIONALS

My sweet friend Lisa Chatterjee designed this card and I was so lucky and happy to receive a copy of it.  This card is so cheerful.
Lisa found a great way to mix patterned papers from the summer smooches SU! collection and to combine the butterfly stamped images.  Really cool and a very nice card.  Anyone who received this card will be very lucky to receive it because it is so bright and awesome.  I think I'll hold onto this one for awhile and keep it at my desk.  Thanks again Lisa for sharing.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINDA KINCAID

Friday was Linda Kincaid's birthday.  Linda is a dear friend for many many years.  I made up this card for her and mailed it.  I have another one I'll share later that I have to actually hand carry, but this one went through the mail easily.  I used one of the retiring SU! colors - RIVER ROCK. I also die cut the butterflies with a die by SU! and spritzed the card stock with some regal rose glimmer mist that I made up using SU! products.
The butterflies and the card stock are also embossed with the BIG SHOT and SU! exclusive embossing folders.  Hope your birthday was great Linda!

THE NEWEST PHOTOPOLYMER STAMPS BY SU!

SU! has just released another photopolymer stamp set - it's another cool one.  Click on photo to see the details.

We've searched long and hard for just the right material to be able to introduce completely clear stamping. And we've found it. We're excited to announce that we now have wood-mount, clear-mount AND photopolymer stamps! The new photopolymer will be an addition to our stamp line and will appeal to all types of stampers. Our top-quality photopolymer has just enough give to create a perfectly stamped image every time and with the introduction of our firm-foam pads, let's just say they're meant for each other! Photopolymer stamps will also be unique, fun designs that will inspire you and provide more versatile options you may not see in our traditional wood- and clear-mount stamp options.
What makes them so great?
  • They're entirely transparent for perfect placement every time!
  • They are durable. The photopolymer material is designed to last.
  • Can you say sticky? (Don't worry; in a good way.) These stamps stick amazingly well to our clear blocks.
  • They're age tested. They won't yellow or cloud up over time.
  • We could go on, but we'll let you try them for yourself.
They are clearly a great choice.

A BUTTERFLY THANK YOU

I found these really cool jewels that fit inside bottle caps and I decided to go ahead and use one on a THANK YOU card I made for a friend.  The butterfly is die cut from a BIG SHOT die exclusive to SU!  and The paper is from the mini collection in the SU! OCCASIONS catalog.  I embossed the butterfly with the lattice embossing folder.
